Mercedes obtained her Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Electronics and Telecommunications in 2010 and a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Digital Electronic Control in 2012, both from the University of Costa Rica. He worked in private industry for two years, after which he began his academic career at the University of Costa Rica. Her passion for digital technologies and control engineering led her to follow her dream of studying abroad for a Ph.D. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. In 2017, she was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland for her work on networked control systems. His areas of interest are wireless network control, plant modeling and simulation, automation, process optimization, large-scale systems and comprehensive security systems.
